Paper Clay?

Wondering if any of y'all have had success with reparing cracks using paper clay? What mix do you use and in what quantities?
Thanks!

  1. hey! i've had a little success with paper clay. Just mix in some newspaper into hot water, or toilet paper. I found a recipie where you use insulation. But as for filling cracks and such, it works!!! I've had several blow ups and I just re-build with paper clay and attach. You have to soak the piece in water before you attach the paper clay or it won't work.
    I hope this helps you!

  2. I have soaked toilet paper in water and mixed that into the slip of the clay body you are repairing. I've done this before the bisque and have had good results. Amounts? A little of this and a little of that. :-)

  3. Hi - I also use paper clay, but add magic water for the liquid part - I find that that seems to work a bit better. I find myself using this mix also whenever I need to use slip - I saw a youtube video of Fong Choo using paper clay for all his attaching slips. I find that I have fewer cracks this way.
