Time
During the infestation of lady bugs last week, I had the thought that perhaps the lady bugs see the cicada skeletons hanging on the branches, like we see the dinosaur bones in the ground.
We have cycles of insect infestations like cicadas, wasps, lighting bugs, caterpillars, grasshoppers, preying mantis, tree frogs, etc. and many don’t intersect, so they never see each other. They only see evidence of each others existence.
But what if one day were a million years? Then the cicadas would have existed 40 million years ago for the lady bugs.
And yet it happens every year, the same cycles of life and death.
What if the life on earth and of our species is also a cycle? (Big Bang, bacteria, fish, dinosaurs, apes, humans, etc.) Repeated over and over, but in millions of years not days?
Hummm?
