Western North Carolina professional potters group forming in the High Country
From the Handmade in America newsletter:
Calling All Potters in the Following Counties:
Watauga, Avery, Ashe, Wilkes, and Caldwell Counties
Tena Wenta, of Wenta Pottery, is working to establish a professional potters group in the High Country. The first meeting will be held on Thursday, April 17 from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Watauga County Library in Boone NC.
The first meeting will select a committee that will work to establish The High Country Potters. Tena's desire is to not only network with the Watauga County Arts Council, but with Ashe and Avery County Arts Councils, HandMade in America, the Chambers of Commerce, the High Country Visitor Center, the Northwest Visitor Center, and anyone else that will help bring a presence to the great number of potters living and working in these counties.
Please contact Tena at wentapottery@bellsouth.net for more information.
