Malcolm's Shino

This pot is thrown, altered and assembled. I glazed it with a version of Malcolm's Shino and fired it in a wood kiln. It was really ugly and so I sandblasted it and WOW!

  1. That is a Ron Meyers fave thing to do. He initially had a charcoal burner of an anagama, and Chuck Hindes came to town and helped him and it did better. Some of his really crusty ones looked great after a heavy dose of heavy abrasive. Me--I ended up with charcoal...

  2. And I thought I'd already bought all the equipment I need. I wonder if I'll have to share a sand blaster with my DH.
