Penland School Community Open House

Hey Folks,

Penland School’s Community Open House is coming up Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 1 to 5 PM. All the studios are open and the public is invited to come in and make stuff in each studio free of charge. You can make a glass paper weight, a steel garden stake, a metal bracelet, a sheet of paper, or who knows what. It’s a lot of fun for everyone! Put it on your calendar.

 

I always need volunteers in the clay studio and if you’d like to participate behind the scenes, I will be forever grateful to you. Volunteers get lunch and special souvenir apron to take home. In the clay studio we allow visitors a chance to play on the wheel with one–on–one help from a volunteer or visitors can make a tiny sculpture or hand built pot. Volunteers arrive at 11 AM and leave soon after 5 PM, but you don't have to stay the whole time and you can leave early if you need to. Everyone just wants to have fun and, trust me, you will look like the ceramics expert.
