Basic Salt Kiln Wash
50% Alumina
50% Kaolin

Wood firing Wadding
5 parts Alumina Hydrate
16 parts Fire Clay
16 parts Sand
Sawdust to taste
(Parts can be measured by scoops, or cups etc.)

Japanese Wood Wadding
1 part sawdust
1 part crushed oyster shells
1 part flour
Fire clay (to taste)
Then coat wadding with rice hull ash.
